Packaging Society visit to Crown R&D Centre - Why not join us?

In 1892 the company’s founder, William Painter, invented a better way to package soft drinks and beer. Painter's vision revolutionised the bottling industry. His ingenuity, and the leadership of those who came after him, helped to build Crown Holdings, Inc. into the world leader in packaging that it has become.

Today, Crown Holdings, Inc. manufactures packaging products from 139 plants located in 41 countries. The company’s core business remains the continuous improvement of the quality of the Crown’s packaging products, while keeping costs low. The ubiquitous ‘Crown Cork’ industry standard metal bottle top for glass bottles is still going strong.

Crown has an important R&D/Technology Development centre here in the UK (Wantage), and The East Mids Packaging Society has arranged a visit to this interesting packaging supplier on November 26th. On site they have pilot plant equipment and our contact there has kindly agreed to arrange a talk about metal packaging products as well as a site tour. As this is Crown’s Development Centre they have a full range of static displays which will be of great interest to visitors.

Crown will arrange refreshments and tea/coffee arrival.

As the site does not work shifts a start time for the visit has been fixed for 14:30hrs start with finish at 17:00 hrs.      
Car parking is available on site.
