Packaging Society visit to Holland - March 16th-18th

Dear All,
Last year we hosted a very successful visit of the Dutch Packaging Society (VNV) to the UK, which involved visits to various factories and events around the East Midlands.

We have now scheduled a return visit to Holland in March, so why not come along to visit some interesting factories and listen to some exciting & leading-edge talks from our European colleagues in the Dutch packaging industry. A great chance to network with industry experts and colleagues and build your knowledge.

Final details on travel & accommodation have yet to be finalised depending on numbers that 'sign-up', but the broad outline of dates and itinerary are detailed below.

Date:  16th, 17th & 18th March 2014

Agreed factory visits will include:
- Arla - Dairy products Arla website

- Douwe Egberts - Coffee products - part of Sara Lee Douwe Egberts website

More detailed programme:

Sunday, March 16
Arrival in the Netherlands (Schiphol / coach / … )
Cultural tour, e.g. Noord Holland - to the North of Amsterdam
(Windmils Zaandam, dike Enkhuizen – Lelystad, drive through polder, Batavia shipyard, ...)

Evening meal (venue TBC) and then drive to the hotel in Nijkerk.

Monday, March 17
Visit Arla, the fresh dairy factory (Nijkerk)
Lunch Douwe Egberts - DEMB (Utrecht)
Visit DEMB coffee, and the Senseo filling lines (Utrecht)

Evening meal with VNV members (Rotterdam)
Hotel on the SS Rotterdam (= 19th century ship which is now a floating restaurant & hotel)

Tuesday, March 18
Visit Nolet Jenever distilliary (Schiedam)
Lunch Nolet
Visit supermarket or cultural tour (optional, depending on time of departure)
Departure

Likely cost:
Approx cost will be around £300 per head all inclusive – travel, meals, hotel.
Some subsidised places might be available (e.g. for students or low paid individuals)
